Join The Dames
The Grand Dames Mission is to Celebrate, Educate and Inspire Women to Believe, Achieve, and Succeed in Aviation and Aerospace. We have several options below for getting involved and being part of our mission, whether you are an aviation veteran, in flight training, or simply want to support our cause.
Grand Dames
Women ages 35 and up with at least 10 years of experience as professional aviators are automatically qualified for Grand Dame certification. Other women with extraordinary accomplishments as aviators are also considered for membership, including aerobatic champions, astronauts, and world record holders.
Aspiring Dames
If you are in flight training, or a commercial pilot under age 35, apply as an Aspiring Dame of Aviation(AiDA)! As an Aspiring Dame, you'll enjoy mentorship opportunities and stay informed about new scholarships offered by the Grand Dames.
The Honorary Fellowship
of Aviation
Join the ranks of historic and legendary Honorary Fellows, like Chuck Yeager, who supported the Grand Dames of Aviation enthusiastically during his day. Men and women may join if they have at least 10 years experience as an aviation professional with a record of supporting women in aviation. Annual fee is $25/year and goes toward scholarships and programs. Receive newsletters and invites to our events and speaker series!

Become a Grand Dame if you have at least ten years experience as a professional pilot, ages 35 and up. nonpilots can be approved by the membership committee after 2 years service.
Join the Aspiring Dames if you are working towards your ten years experience to become a Grand Dame, ages 18 and up.
Join the Honorary Fellowship of Aviation if you are an aviation professional with at least ten years experience.

Yes! If you have accumulated at least 10 years experience as a career professional pilot.

If you have an extraordinary accomplishment, i.e. world-record holder, aerobatic champion, the board will consider your application. Otherwise, you can apply for the Aspiring Dame, Honorary Fellowship or Aviation Enthusiast Circle memberships.

Yes! If you are an aviation and aerospace professional with at least 10 years experience you can join our Honorary Fellowship of Aviation for. $25/year. If you are a woman in aviation who is not a pilot but has trailblazing accomplishments you can receive Grand Dame designation by serving for 2 years as an advisor or volunteer! Contact us for details.

Yes! Men are welcome to apply for the Honorary Fellowship of Aviation membership if they have at least 10 years as an aviation or aerospace professional. If you do not have 10 years experience, you may apply to join the Aviation Enthusiast Circle, which is still in development.
